Chinese peacekeeping police in Liberia have taken strict precautions to cope with the deadly Ebola virus sweeping through Africa.

"Apart from daily disinfections, we have established a means of medically tracking the police officers who conduct missions in Liberia," said Yang Qiankun, the squad's press officer. The squad has 140 police officers who were deployed to Liberia in June to continue an eight-month United Nations peacekeeping assignment.

Since July, the Ebola virus rapidly spread to the eight prefectures in Liberia, killing 257 people and infecting 471 others.
