Roughly 23.3 million people went to the movies in China last week, producing 797 million yuan ($129 million) in box office revenue, a 43 percent increase over the same period last year, according to China Film News on Tuesday. On Saturday, which was Qixi, or "Chinese Valentine's Day", box office revenue reached 246 million yuan. Domestic film The White Haired Witch of Lunar Kingdom grossed 226 million yuan last week.
