Singer Mao Amin ready to tour

Veteran singer Mao Amin, 52, will embark on a national tour for the first time in her 30-year career. The first stop will be in Nanjing, Jiangsu province, on Sept 6. Mao became a household name in the late 1980s by performing at the annual CCTV Spring Festival Gala, the country's most-watched show, to celebrate China's Lunar New Year. Her songs featured in TV series made her one of the most popular female stars in the country. She withdrew from the spotlight in 2003 after getting married and gave birth to a daughter and a son.
