McDonald's cuts all ties with factory

By Wang Hongyi and Wang Zhuoqiong | China Daily | Updated: 2014-07-29 06:43

Fast-food giant McDonald's announced on Monday that it had stopped purchases from all Husi food factories in China after the company was found using expired and substandard meat.

Last week, McDonald's had announced it would source products from Husi's newly-established Henan factory after the scandal was uncovered.

"We have noticed the public is worried about us using products from Husi. After hearing the customers' voice, we decided to suspend sourcing from Husi China (and all its joint ventures) starting from last Friday," McDonald's said in a statement on its website.
