In-flight Wi-Fi is now available on China Eastern Airlines flights between Shanghai and Beijing, but for now only to selected passengers.
The trial service was launched on Wednesday as China Eastern became the first domestic carrier to offer the service on the mainland.
The selected passengers will be able to surf the Internet, use interactive apps such as micro blogs and WeChat, and watch video clips once the flight reaches an altitude of 3,048 meters (10,000 feet).
