The maximum number of visitors allowed daily into the Mogao Caves in Dunhuang, Gansu province, since Aug 1, according to a regulation to better protect the cultural heritage site. The Mogao Caves, also known as the Cave of the Thousand Buddhas, has a history of more than 1,600 years and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
