Vice-minister urges immediate cease-fire

Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Zhang Ming met diplomats from Palestine, Israel, a number of Arab states and the Arab League in Beijing on Tuesday to urge an immediate cease-fire between Palestine and Israel. Zhang said China condemns any attack against civilians and welcomes the Egyptian initiative for a cease-fire. China's Special Envoy on Middle East Affairs Wu Sike will start another visit to Palestine, Israel and other countries in the region on Wednesday for further mediation.
