China's box office sales totaled 13.7 billion yuan ($2.21 billion) for the first half of the year, up 24.7 percent from the same period the previous year. Thirty-three films achieved ticket sales of over 100 million yuan, including 15 domestic productions, according to the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television.
