Confessions of Japanese war criminal
Editor's note: Earlier this month, China's State Archives Administration released a number of files on 45 Japanese war criminals who were tried and convicted in China after World War II. The criminals received sentences of eight-to-20 years' imprisonment from the special military tribunal of the Supreme People's Court, China's top court. Hideo Sakakibara
He was born in Okayama Prefecture, Japan, in 1908. He served as military doctor of the 57th Infantry Regiment of the 1st Division in "Manchukuo" in September 1936. From November 1944 to August 1945, he was head of the Linkou Branch of the Epidemic Prevention and Water Supply Detachment of the Kwantung Army. His major offenses include:
