Yuan strengthens on first day of Sino-US dialogue
The yuan rose to its strongest level in three months as the two-day Strategic and Economic Dialogue between Chinese and US leaders began in Beijing. US Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew said on Wednesday that greater flexibility for the yuan would help raise household purchasing power. The currency climbed 0.04 percent to close at 6.1999 per dollar in Shanghai, China Foreign Exchange Trade System prices show.
