Many see Beijing as best choice for '22 Games

Another successful Olympics bid would continue the positive momentum from the 2008 Beijing Olympics to further benefit residents of the Chinese capital and neighboring Hebei province, officials and experts said.

Ever since Beijing and the bordering city of Zhang-jiakou in Hebei launched their joint bid for the 2022 Winter Games in November, concerns about air pollution in northern China, excessive spending on infrastructure upgrades and winter sports' less-popular status in China have been making the headlines.
