'An extensive strategic partnership'

2015 will be Sino-German year of cooperation on innovation

Chinese President Xi Jinping made his first state visit to Germany in March this year. During the trip Germany and China agreed on an extensive strategic partnership that will see closer cooperation in business, research, and financial and foreign policy.

Representatives of German and Chinese businesses signed numerous cooperation agreements and Chancellor Merkel accepted the Chinese president's proposal to make 2015 the year of cooperation on innovation between Germany and China.
