Van Gaal's tactics lauded

Dutch centurion Dirk Kuyt hailed Louis van Gaal as soccer's most tactically adept coach after he masterminded the comeback against Mexico that advanced the Netherlands into the World Cup quarterfinals.

Kuyt played at three positions throughout the 90 minutes in his 100th appearance for his country.

He started in an unfamiliar role at leftback before moving to rightback and eventually up front as the Netherlands rallied after Giovani dos Santos scored for Mexico.
