With South Korea's 1-0 loss to Belgium on Thursday, the last Asian team bowed out of the World Cup - leaving the continent without any representatives in the knockout stages.
The result caps a dismal campaign for South Korea, Japan, Australia and Iran, marking the first time since 1998 that none of those teams reached the knockout stage of soccer's marquee tournament.
The statistical story didn't provide encouraging reading for the Asian teams: 12 games, 0 wins, 3 draws, 9 losses.
