Forum: 'Critical period' to upgrade industries

Dongguan entrepreneurs and their growing businesses play an important role in industrial transformation in the traditional manufacturing and trade city, local business leaders and officials said.

"The economy and social development of Dongguan has entered a critical period as we strive to upgrade industries," said Zhang Ke, deputy mayor of Dongguan. "Local private businesses help better upgrade the economic structure."

Zhang made the remarks during a forum on developing local entrepreneurs on Thursday in Dongguan.
