By Associated Press in Porto Alegre, Brazil | China Daily | Updated: 2014-06-24 07:09

They might want to change Porto Alegre's name to Porto Algeria after the Desert Foxes' 4-2 victory over South Korea in the southern Brazilian city on Sunday.

Algeria's four goals ended a 32-year wait for a World Cup win and shot it into contention for a last-16 place for the first time in four tournaments.

The Beira Rio stadium echoed to the chants of "1-2-3, Vive Algerie" after the final whistle from Algeria's vociferous green-and-white clad fans.
