'Female Hannibal Lecter' arrested
A 71-year-old Frenchwoman is to undergo psychiatric testing after killing her husband and cooking his heart, nose and genitals. A judicial source said the woman was arrested on May 22 in the northern French town of Longwy, describing her as "the female Hannibal Lecter", after the fictional cannibal in the thriller The Silence of the Lambs.

Illegal migrants return home
Cambodian Minister of Labor Ith Samheng said on Friday that nearly all illegal Cambodian migrant laborers working in Thailand have returned home in fears of a crackdown on illegal foreign workers. "I think that nearly all of them have been repatriated from Thailand because, until now, the number of Cambodian laborers who have been sent back from Thailand has remarkably declined," he said.

Israeli troops kill 14-year-old
Israeli soldiers killed a 14-year-old Palestinian in the West Bank on Friday as they pressed a crackdown on Hamas in their search for three missing teenagers. Troops also wounded two Palestinians outside Jerusalem, medical sources said, as clashes flared during the massive military operation in which forces have detained 330 Palestinians over the past week.

Govt 'erred' in magazine raid
Polish prosecutors made mistakes in the way they searched the offices of the Wprost news magazine looking for leaked tapes whose publication has embarrassed the government, the Justice Ministry said on Friday. "There were several legal deficiencies and some errors in the desired methodology of conducting (the operation)," said the ministry's undersecretary of state, Michal Krolikowski.
