Govt rewards citizens who fought terrorists
The government of Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region gave 500,000 yuan ($80,000) as a reward to two groups of citizens who helped to fight terrorist activities and violent crimes, Xinjiang Daily reported on Wednesday. A group in Hotan who fought three terrorists attacking people in a game room on Sunday was awarded 300,000. A group of citizens in Pishan county, who captured three terrorist suspects with machetes, daggers and twelve explosive devices in late May, received 200,000 yuan.
