Car crashes into CNN Center
Police are investigating how a car crashed into a lobby at the CNN Center, the news network's headquarters in Atlanta. WSB-TV reports that the car shattered the glass entryway of a lobby before dawn on Friday and came to rest in the middle of the lobby. Police said two people were in the car at the time of the crash.

Man dead after Facebook dare
French police are warning young people about the dangers of a dare spreading on Facebook that has left a young man dead and another severely injured. Police confirmed on Friday that a 19-year-old drowned a day earlier after driving his bicycle into a port in the western Brittany region while a friend filmed him.

Thousands flock to gay parade
Shirtless Israeli men, colorfully dressed drag queens and others partied on Friday through central Tel Aviv as tens of thousands of people took part in the city's annual gay pride parade, the largest event of its kind in the Middle East. Tel Aviv is one of the few places in the Middle East where gays feel free to walk hand-in-hand and kiss in public.

Mayor resigns over scandal
The mayor of Venice resigned on Friday over a corruption scandal linked to the construction of the city's flood barrier that has embarrassed the government of Prime Minister Matteo Renzi. Giorgio Orsoni, a university professor who represented Renzi's Democratic Party at his election in 2010, was arrested last week on accusations of receiving $762,400 in illicit political financing from the consortium responsible for the flood barrier.
