Mom blames self for daughter's injuries

A mother whose daughter was allegedly abused by a training school teacher expressed remorse over the girl's injuries on Friday, saying the child urgently needs professional help.

"I'm so sorry for Tong Tong (not her real name). It's my fault that she was caused such great pain," Zhang Xuemei, the girl's 40-year-old mother, said in Hebei province. "My child has more than 20 injuries on her body, but the worst one is the one in her head."

The 9-year-old is being treated at No 1 Hospital in Baoding, "but she seldom smiles and is always crying", Zhang said.
