Experiences can play big role in shaping success, failure
Sour muscles, numb necks and stiff wrists are complaints that are commonplace in modern offices, especially after the increased use of computers in workplaces. But most of these problems can be solved through the use of proper furniture, sometimes as simple as a chair, say industry experts.
Such concerns are now prompting China, where good health has been a major workplace driver, to invest more on ergonomic products, said Tim Hutchings, president of Humanscale International, the overseas market expansion unit of Humanscale Ltd, a US-based ergonomic equipment maker and supplier.
Hutchings said that one of the most interesting traits about China has been the great concern that employers have for employees. "It is really fascinating to see the synergy between the two. Young employees want to get more out of their work experience, while progressive employers are responding to this by providing a more comfortable working environment."
