Suspect accused of 1.65m yuan fraud

A man from Heilongjiang province allegedly cheated three people out of 1.65 million yuan ($263,900) after saying he could help them to get household registration and jobs in Beijing, Jinghua Times reported on Thursday. The man, surnamed Li, is accused of cheating the three from March to July 2012 before disappearing with the money. He was caught by police in October 2013 and will stand trial soon.
