Five-star hotel offers world's first oxygen lounge in one of the highest inhabited regions

Resting among the highest peaks in the world, travelers can find refuge in their own personal paradise at the Shangri-La Hotel, Lhasa.

The hotel group's first luxury property in the heart of the Himalayas opened this spring. It marked a sort of homecoming for the Hong Kong-based brand, which was inspired by the legendary landscape featured in James Hilton's 1933 novel Lost Ho-rizon.
