Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl, who was captured in 2009 while serving in US Army 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment in Afghanistan, was released after a swap for five Taliban prisoners. Bergdahl was considered the only US prisoner of war held in Afghanistan. Under the conditions of release, the five Taliban prisoners are to stay within the borders of Qatar for at least a year. The five pictures of the Taliban prisoners were obtained from several purported US Department of Defense documents released by Wikileaks.com. The US would neither confirm nor deny the accuracy of the images.
