Since '78, over 1.4m students back home

Over the past 35 years, more than 1.4 million Chinese overseas students have returned to China after graduating from school, according to the Ministry of Education on Tuesday. The ministry said over 3.05 million people pursued degrees in foreign countries from 1978, the beginning of China's opening-up policy, to the end of 2013. Among the more than 1.6 million people who have not returned, 1.07 million are studying or doing research abroad.
