19 deaths

At least 19 people have died and seven others remain missing after downpours hit South China, local authorities said on Sunday. The rainstorms, the severity of which occurs only once every 100 years, lashed Guangzhou, Zhaoqing and Qingyuan, causing floods, mudslides and the collapse of houses, provincial flood control and civil affairs authorities said.
