Located only 50 kilometers away from Shanghai at the core of the Yangtze River Delta, Kunshan has invested heavily to improve its ability to attract exhibition organizers.

Covering 931 sq km with some 753,000 of its population of 1.64 million are local permanent residents with the rest migrants or investors.

It is home to the Kunshan National-Level Economic and Technological Development Zone, Kunshan Bonded Area, Kunshan High-tech Development Zone, Kunshan Cross-Straits Industrial Development Pilot Zone, Huaqiao Economic Development Zone and Kunshan Tourism Resort. The county-level city governs eight townships.
