Traditional Chinese medicine sales skyrocket in Guizhou

Guizhou province saw sales of Miao medicine hit 15 billion yuan ($2.4 billion) last year, exceeding those of Tibetan, Uygur and Mongolian medicine, the top three sectors for traditional Chinese medicine. "Miao medicine boasts the highest sales revenue nationwide." said Wang Jiangping, vice-governor of Guizhou province. Guizhou sells 4,802 different kinds of TCM ingredients, accounting for 40 percent of the country's total. Last year, Guizhou produced 1.03 million tons of TCM ingredients worth 9.1 billion yuan, according to Wang.
