The International Network for Bamboo and Rattan celebrated INBAR Day with the opening of its exhibition garden at the 2014 Qingdao International Horticultural Exposition on April 26.

Everything at the park and pavilion is made of bamboo and rattan, including the walls, ceilings, columns, furniture, decorations and ornaments.

In addition, 25 different kinds of bamboo grow at the park, including Monstera ceriman, or turtle shell bamboo, and Phyllostachys nigra, known as black bamboo. INBAR director-general Hans Friederich says the International Bamboo and Rattan Garden is based on the concepts of ecology, green living and sustainability.
