Comic actor seeks talents

Veteran comic actor Chen Peisi has launched a project to find new comedy talent in Beijing. Actors who have graduated from his Dadao Comedy School will perform Chen's famous dramas, including Tuo'er and Balcony, at 21st Century Theater in Beijing every Friday and Saturday throughout May and June. With the support of sponsors, he will also offer free courses for disadvantaged students. Ever since he retired from the limelight, the 60-year-old has focused on developing theater performances. Four years ago, he also kicked off the annual Beijing Comedy Festival, which gathers comic dramas around China and offers a stage for young comic actors.
