Xu stays productive
Xu Zheng, a veteran actor and director of the highest-grossing Chinese film, has a tight schedule this year. In the thriller The Great Hypnotist, which premiered on April 29, Xu plays a therapist haunted by a mysterious female patient. It is the first time Xu, well-known for his performance in many comedy films, such as The Crazy Racer and Lost in Thailand, stars in a horror film. After working with director Ning Hao in The Crazy Racer and No Man's Land, the two team up again for Ning's new film, a road-trip comedy also starring comedian Huang Bo. Xu's directorial debut Lost in Thailand generated 1.2 billion yuan ($190 million) at the box office in 2012.
