Beijing to provide additional aid of at least $12 billion for the continent
Premier Li Keqiang described on Monday how he grew up listening to stories about African national independence movements and followed the progress of the Tanzara Railway construction.
The railway, linking Tanzania and Zambia, is 1,860 km long and was financed by China. Construction began in 1970 and was completed in 1975, two years ahead of schedule. Sixty-five Chinese workers died during the railway's construction.
