More Chinese students seeking a 'creative' path to a lifetime career

Zhang Xiao (pseudonym) decided to attend college abroad after finishing high school in Beijing. So far, she's received admission offers from five of the 10 universities she applied to in the United States.

Zhang, 18, is now a senior, but the decision to go overseas came in the summer after her first year of high school. Unlike most Chinese students who pursue degrees in subjects such as finance or business, she intends to study art or design.
