Companies prosper under strengthened protection climate

Innovation and intellectual property protection are keywords in both China and France, according to officials and company representatives from the two countries at a forum held last week.

With the theme of "influence, innovation and IP", the forum was the fourth and last module of the France-China Soft Power Forum organized by the French embassy in China. The event celebrated the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

"IP protection is part of a nation's soft power," said Jean-Baptiste Barbier, IP attache at the French Embassy. "It influences a nation's economy, society and environment, and benefits the country and every company and individual in there."
