Developing new regional economic belts was described as a strategic step in this year's Government Work Report.
In the document, the government clarified different development targets and priorities for various regions. Different economic policies will be introduced in these regions and the relocation of industries will be speeded up to develop transregional transportation and goods distribution networks.
The development of western China has been given high priority by the government, according to the report. The government has also promised to fully revitalize old industrial bases in the northeast and other parts of the country, as well as spurring "the rise" of the central area.
