Horticultural Expo opens in Qingdao

Qingdao unveiled the 2014 International Horticultural Exposition on Friday, offering the world a horticultural wonderland.

"Before we built the park, this area was remote countryside. The two beautiful lakes we now have in the park were two small ponds," said Wu Zhiqiang, chief designer of the Qingdao expo.

"But now we have changed the area into a world-class resort. Local people will benefit from the park long after the expo ends."
