Groundbreaking for massive Janssen plant

Xi'an Janssen Pharmaceutical Ltd, one of the Janssen pharmaceutical companies of Johnson & Johnson, recently broke ground on a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Xi'an, capital of Shaanxi province.

The groundbreaking ceremony on April 17 in the Xi'an High-Tech Industry Development Zone marked the latest milestone in the project following the signing of an agreement on plant development in November 2013 and an investment commitment with the high-tech zone's administrative committee in February this year.

Construction is expected to be completed by 2016, with the plant scheduled to become operational in 2018.
