Struggle between old and new
Hong Kong director Pang Ho-Cheung and singer-actress Miriam Yeung reunite in his new film Aberdeen, to be released on May 8. The film traces three generations of Hong Kong families in Aberdeen, the center of South Hong Kong. It is the third time the two have teamed up: It was her role in Pang's film Love in the Buff that won Yeung her first best actress award at the 32nd Hong Kong Film Award in 2013. In Aberdeen, Yeung plays opposite veteran actor Eric Tsang as his wife. Pang aims to give viewers a glimpse of the ordinary Hong Kong people's struggle between traditions and modernity.
