Guangdong hopes to take the lead in China in building an independent court specializing in intellectual property, according to a high-level official in the province.
The provincial government plans to develop a pilot program of a special tribunal to cover fields where intellectual property has boomed and related disputes happen frequently, Zhu Xiaodan, the provincial governor, said on Monday.
The provincial public security bureaus, industry and commercial authorities have participated in studies, under the provincial court's guidance, to analyze how IP cases are distributed and, among other things, to compare the numbers of IP trials in different grassroots courts, Zhu said.
