Mourinho fined, warned for conduct

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has been fined 8,000 pounds ($13,400) and warned about his future conduct after being sent off at Aston Villa last month, the Football Association announced on Thursday. Mourinho requested a personal hearing with the FA after he was charged with improper conduct for being sent to the stands by referee Chris Foy during the dying stages of a 1-0 loss at Villa Park in the Premier League. "Mourinho denied a breach of FA rule E3 in that his behavior in re-entering the field of play and approaching the match referee in an attempt to speak to him ... amounted to improper conduct," the FA said.
