Iraq
Militants to use water as weapon
Insurgents in Iraq have added water to their arsenal of weapons after seizing control of a western dam that enables them to flood certain areas to prevent security forces from advancing. The dam helps distribute water from the Euphrates River on its course through Anbar province. It is located some 5 kilometers south of Fallujah, which was overrun by militants early this year.

Turkey
Govt pledges to heed court ruling
Turkey's government will abide by a court ruling that rejected part of a law tightening the government's control of the judiciary, Justice Minister Bekir Bozdag said on Friday. "The regulation we have prepared conforms with the Constitution. The constitutional court's cancellation decision has not changed my opinion. But, of course, we will abide by the court's decision," the minister said.
