The revenue from Chinese box office sales between January and March, up by 29 percent year-on-year, according to the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television. Figures released on Wednesday by the film watchdog show that Chinese-language titles earned 4.2 billion yuan ($681 million), or 62.5 percent of the total. The top three highest-grossing films were Chinese.
