March 18: Hundreds of protesters storm assembly hall of Taiwan's legislative body to demand a "proper review" of the cross-Straits service trade pact.
March 19: At least 1,000 protesters rally outside legislative assembly hall in standoff with police. The ruling Kuomintang central committee issues a statement calling for the rational expression of opinions and accusing the opposition Democratic Progressive Party of inciting the public.
March 20: Protesters demand the pact be retracted and threaten further action if Taiwan leader Ma Ying-jeou refuses to respond.
