'Adventurous' performer comes to Beijing

Polish-born and New York-based violinist Kinga Augustyn will join the Manhattan Symphonie for upcoming concerts in Beijing. She will play one of her favorite music works, Zigeunerweisen, by Spanish composer Pablo de Sarasate. Described as "an adventurous performer valuable to New York's scene" by New York Concert Review, Augustyn says that Zigeunerweisen is special to her since it reflected the days when she first came to New York, feeling homesick and alone. The winner of multiple international awards began her music career at the age of 7 in her native Poland. She went on to the Juilliard School, where she studied with Dorothy DeLay.

7:30 pm, April 7-10. Poly Theater, 14 Dongzhimen Nan Dajie (Street), Dongcheng district, Beijing. 4006-228-228.
