Kuala Lumpur to enhance passenger checks

The new Advanced Passenger Screening System of Malaysia's Immigration Department is expected to be operational by mid-June, Home Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said. He added that the system is one of several new security protocols being installed at the country's entry points after the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines flight MH370. The APSS enables authorities to quickly check the background of people at entry points. Two Iranians reportedly boarded flight MH370 using stolen passports.
