Happiest city

Named China's happiest city in a survey conducted by the Xinhua News Agency and China Association of Mayors, Changchun is working even harder toward improving local quality of life.

The Taoyuan Road project that was started in 2006 heralded the municipal government's efforts to build a happy city for the people. The project transformed the slum area along the road into a residential complex with commercial and community facilities.

In 2012, the government released policies and invested in public services regarding people's well-being.
