Shandong tailors plans to varying needs of regions
East China's Shandong province will emphasize four regional strategies covering all of its 17 cities to enhance the province's overall competitiveness, said Guo Shuqing, governor of Shandong.
Guo stressed the importance of developing the regional strategies when he delivered his government report on Jan 17 at the province's "two sessions".
Guo said the Shandong Peninsula Economic Zone in the east of Shandong shall play a leading role in developing marine economy, while policies in the Yellow River Delta in the north will focus on the eco-efficient industries. Preferential policies will also be given to the cities in the west, a less-developed area of Shandong and the cities around Jinan, the capital city, to help them improve the economic structure and development pattern.
