Amid the media hoopla, keeping people informed is what matters

This is my first time reporting on a session of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee, the top political advisory body in the country.
Personally, I am more intrigued by the way the media covers the event than the procedures themselves, with which I am already familiar through school textbooks.
At the news conference, far more reporters were allowed to enter the hall than the number of seats. The cutthroat competition for a seat is a vivid reflection of the media's struggles in the market.
