More than 3,000 domestic and foreign journalists have applied to cover the annual sessions of China's top legislature and top advisory body, according to the press center for the two sessions.

Lawmakers and political advisers are scheduled to convene in Beijing this week, when the session of the National People's Congress and the National Committee of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference will be held.

The press center of the NPC session opened on Saturday a public account on WeChat, a popular multimedia communication service on mobile devices, to release news and information. Web users can scan the code of the WeChat account on the NPC press center's website to receive information about the session.
