Britain's Amir Khan unleashed a flurry of verbal jabs at Floyd Mayweather on Tuesday after the unbeaten American passed him over in favor of Argentina's Marcos Maidana for a lucrative May 3 bout.
Mayweather, 45-0 with 26 knockouts, announced on Monday - his 37th birthday - he would defend his World Boxing Association and World Boxing Council junior middleweight crowns against Maidana, 35-3 with 31 knockouts.
"Marcos Maidana's last performance immediately brought him to my attention," Mayweather said in a statement.
